2011 Cycling Australia Masters Road National Championships

Ballarat will once again play host to the 2011 Cycling Australia Masters Road National Championships from 6 - 9 October.

The Mayor of Ballarat, Craig Fletcher extends an invitation to Masters cyclists to come to Ballarat.

The event is being promoted by Cycling Australia (CA) in partnership with Cycling Victoria (CV).

An invitation is also extended to current AVCC members to participate in this year's Cycling Australia Masters Road National Championships. If you have a current AVCC membership you will need to take out a CA Day licence and complete the manual entry form that you can download here.

    • MMAS4 - 78.5 km (5 laps)
    • WMAS 1, 2 & 3 - 62.8 km (4 laps)

The final schedule of Masters categories racing on either Saturday or Sunday cannot be finalised until the close of entries and we can determine which categories need to be combined.

Registration and Managers Meeting

Registration will take place at the start line of each day as shown in the following schedule:

  • Thursday, 6 October - Registration open from 7:30am until 12:00pm 

  • Friday, 7 October - Registration open from 8:00am until 12:00pm (Victoria Park, Ballarat)

  • Saturday & Sunday 8-9 October - All competitors must register at least one hour before their scheduled start time.

Friday night social opportunity

Cycling Victoria is pleased to announce that we will play host to an interactive evening hosted by Scott McGrory (Olympic Gold Medalist, VIS Coach and TV Peronality) and other cycling personalities on Friday October 7 at the Ballarat Golf Club.  The evening will look at the highlights of the 2011 Cycling season and insights into the future of national and international cycling.  
The session will review:
·    Insight into the 2011 Tour Highlights including the historic victory of Cadel Evans
·    Green Edge: Australia's First Professional Team - What to Expect
·    The future of Australian Cycling
Entry will be free with bar drinks and food available.

Event Information

Presentations

Presentations will be conducted each day ASAP after the completion of racing. All placegetters must be dressed in their full cycling race gear. Placegetters who are not appropriately dressed may be denied a podium presentation and/ or fined.

Official Massage clinic in Ballarat

Remedial & Sports Massage will be available at the Championships provided by Copeland Massage Therapy Clinic.

Licence Requirements

It is the responsibility of the entrant to have the correct licence to race a Championship (open) event in Australia. Entry will be refused if an entrant cannot produce their racing licence or their licence category and/or UCI code is insufficient. Refunds for events will not be given in the event of a competitor not having a sufficient racing licence. Examples of a sufficient licence include: an UCI Cycling Australia Master Category or Elite category with a UCI code of Domestic or International valid until 31 December 2011; Any overseas licence issued by UCI with a UCI code of International valid until 31 December 2011 with rider photograph. Examples of INVALID LICENCES include licences issued by the AVCC or other non-CA or non-UCI bodies; licences issued by a non-Australian UCI body with a UCI code of Domestic (such a licence only covers racing in the country of issue).

AVCC members may enter this championship provided they complete a CA Day licence application and pay the $22 fee

The Championships will be conducted under CA Technical Regulations governing Australian Masters Road Championships.
