Eligibility to compete in Australian Championships
We have had a number of issues surrounding rider’s nationality status and how this impacts on eligibility to compete in Australian Championships. To provide clarification CA has issued a memo addressing this which can be found in full on the CA website. In summary the memo clarifies that Australian Championships are open to:
- Australian citizens (Australian passport holders) who hold a current (Gold) CA racing licence or a licence of another UCI affiliated nation with an ‘ AUS’ international designation
- Australian residents – this does not include visitors to Australia on work permits, student visas or visitor visas – providing they:
- have not ridden for another country in that national team in the preceding two years
- have not contested the national championships of another country in the preceding two years
- Riders representing a State or Territory must have been affiliated with their respective State or Territory for a minimum of two months prior to the Championships.
