Cycling Australia (CA) is a member-based organisation.
Benefits of membership
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of Cycling Australia. The benefits of membership (either for racing or non-competitive participation) are as follows:

Allows you to participate in any road or track event run under the auspices of Cycling Australia including its affiliated State Associations, Clubs or registered promoters.

NB: Recreational Licence holders are restricted to participation in organised recreational and training rides only.

The opportunity to participate in a challenging, healthy and fun sporting activity with the social benefits associated with involvement in a sporting club environment.

Entitles you to compete in all levels of cycling including club state and Australian championships and if selected, to represent your State or Australia.

Participation structured to your ability and fitness level through graded competition.

Recognises your involvement with an affiliated club, and through this club, the opportunity to participate in coaching clinics and obtain training programs from qualified coaches accredited under the CA/ASC National Coaching Accreditation Scheme.

Provides third party (public liability) insurance and a limited personal accident insurance for all members, officials and volunteers, at any time when participating in cycling activities conducted under the auspices of CA – including organised or endorsed training programs.

Entitles you to the right to compete against other cyclists who are free from the use of performance enhancing drugs.

NB: as a licensed rider, you can be drug tested at any time.

Cycling Australia is authorised by the International Cycling Union to issue international licences to members and affiliates of all cycling disciplines to enable participation in the sport overseas.

Introduction to membership
CA offers 3 types of membership to cater for your level of participation or involvement, including:
| Racing Licence | Full competitive licence that entitles participation in all forms of racing conducted by CA and its affiliated States and Clubs. |

Sport Licence |
Restricted non-competitive licence for the serious cyclist, enabling participation in timed road events – both individual and team based at State and Club level. (Not eligible for state/national championships) |

Temporary Licence |
CA provides a number of temporary membership options that enable non-members to participate in events conducted by CA or its affiliates on an ad hoc basis or as an introductory facility to just ‘come-n-try’. |

How to become a member
Application for membership of Cycling Australia is made through one of 200 affiliated clubs throughout Australia.
Membership Forms can be obtained in hard-copy from an affiliated club or State Association office, or by downloading from this website.

When completing the membership form please print clearly and complete all sections.
Submit the completed form to your Club Secretary or Membership Registrar.
The prescribed membership fee applicable to your membership type and category must be submitted with the completed form.
Retain the original stamped and signed form once receipted by the club official. You must retain this form to enable participation until such time you receive your licence card.
Membership forms are passed on by the Club through the respective State Association to Cycling Australia. The CA office enters details on the national database and issues a licence confirming your membership. The licence cards are forwarded to members by mail.
