Track Endurance

The Track Endurance High Performance Program (HPP) section consists of riders and staff specifically focused on competing in the following track events for both men and women;

  • Individual Pursuit
  • Madison
  • Points Race
  • Scratch Race
  • Teams Pursuit (men)

The track endurance program is headed by coach Ian McKenzie.  Ian works with HPP staff to ensure riders are prepared to compete at international events. Ian was previously the South Australia Sports Institute cycling coach.

Find out more about the endurance riders in the Rider Profiles section and the National Teams link.

The track endurance program is a camps-based program. The riders split their time between training in their home states, training camps in Adelaide, racing overseas on the track, or racing overseas on the road as part of a professional trade team. A typical training week for a track endurance athlete includes four to six track sessions plus up to 700 kilometres of road work.
